Paige was just a 4-year-old girl like any other until she suddenly came down with severe headaches. To her parents’ horror, the headaches were because of a cancerous tumor in her brain as big as a lemon. All of this happened in the span of six short weeks.
With heavy a heart, her doctors broke the terrible news to her mom and dad, saying that Paige’s cancer had gone terminal and that she had only a few days to live.
Paige’s single greatest wish was to be the flower girl for the wedding of her yet unmarried parents. Knowing this, her aunt Innez Stonnell took a day and turned her whole hospital room into a wedding venue. The whole process of getting the hospital’s permission, gathering supplies and arranging the ceremony took only 24 hours and cost $1000.
Photographer Kylie Marcic took the ceremony photos and shared them with Little Things. Kylie has expressed her gratitude that she got to know what a wonderful little girl Paige is and that her mother, Tania, will always have a friend in her. She said that it was both an honor and a privilege to be the photographer present to capture one of the family’s most special moments.

And so it was that in early October, Tania Miller and Jacob Skarratts were married at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, Australia, to make Paige’s dream of being the flower girl come true.
The couple admits that this isn’t exactly how they envisioned their official wedding ceremony would turn out, but they made the most of it for Paige.
Paige had wanted nothing more than to be their flower girl, telling anyone who would listen that her mummy and daddy will be getting married soon and that she’ll be the flower girl.
As of the time of this writing, little Paige is still fighting on.
