Crafter Combines An Antique Window With Old Fence Posts To Create An Awesome New Coffee Table

There is always something sort of sad when things get thrown, especially when we have a lot of history with them. And when you stop to think about all of the useful things that get thrown away every day it’s kind of depressing.

Fortunately, there are some very crafty people who are happy to take old things and make them into new and beautiful things.

It’s even better when two things that no one would ever have put together initially end up being transformed into something entirely new.

One crafter has done exactly that. Taking an old window and several pieces of an old fence and put them together to create a coffee table.

The table really makes a beautiful new addition to the room.

This just goes to show that looking at things a little differently can sometimes lead to something new and wonderful.

It kind of looks like the window was used as a picture frame.

The old materials weren’t the prettiest to look at, but he could see that they had potential.

First he removed the old rusted screws from the fence.

Boards were glued together in order to make the thickness that was needed.

Everything was coming together nicely.

Boards were attached to the bottom to create the base.

The box portion was complete, however it still didn’t look very much like a table just yet.

After getting the grooves carved, things were snug and smooth.

The off-white paint was applied roughly to mimic the distressed, weather-beaten look of the window. After it dried, some paint was even scraped off to make it look even more rustic, and to make the fence wood match the window.

A small chain was added so the window, which was now the table surface, would stay open.

Steel legs were added and the table was all done.

When open it can be used as a storage space for books and magazines.

The finished table definitely gives the room a little rustic charm.
