Gluten Diet Sends Jennifer Esposito To Psych Ward

Jennifer Esposito is a living proof that you can only help yourself when it is known what is wrong with you.

Jennifer, a star of such shows as Samantha Who?, Blue Bloods, and Law & Order, has for years been living with an undiagnosed celiac disease.

Celiac disease is an autoimmune condition that can lead to depression, cancer, malnutrition, and infertility. A diet free of gluten can control this disease.

Since she wasn’t sure of what was wrong with her, she kept on insisting to doctors that they help her. Her dilemma was they were not listening to her.

Suddenly, one day, while on the set of her show Samantha Who?, her tooth fell off. This made her realized that she badly needed help. She frantically sought the help of her doctor.

She thought she would be confined to a hospital for treatment, but instead, she was confined in the Psych Ward and was getting treatment for mental illness. It was during this time that her hair, fingernails, and eyelashes were also falling out.

It was only in 2011 that Jennifer was finally diagnosed as having celiac disease. She was eventually relieved that she was diagnosed as having celiac disease because at least now she knows how to help herself.

Before her diagnosis, Jennifer has been eating a gluten diet. People with celiac disease, however, need to be on a gluten-free diet.

She has since shifted to a gluten-free diet and says that now what she eats is making her feel better. Before her diagnosis, she says, what she ate was killing her.

Today, Jennifer is back to normal and says it was not because of medication but because she was eating the right food.
