Here We Go Again: Two Movie Legends Reunite

After the premiere of the “Mamma Mia!” movie back in 2008, the wait for the sequel is finally over. Fans of the film are surely in for a treat as the sequel to the hit musical stars two movie legends, Cher and three-time Oscar Winner, Meryl Streep.

However, this is not the first time Cher and Meryl have worked together. In 1983, the pair starred in a drama film entitled “Silkwood,” which was about a union activist named Karen Silkwood who died in a mysterious car accident.

According to Cher, since working together for the film “Silkwood” almost 35 years ago, she and Meryl have become good friends up until today. The singer and actress also shared how Meryl has always been there for her.

She also talked about how Meryl had helped her all throughout her acting career, especially during times when she was clueless as to what she was supposed to be doing on set.

Despite an age gap of only four years, Cher will be playing the role of Meryl’s mother in the upcoming sequel of “Mamma Mia.” Both actresses found it funny. As for Cher, she said the role of being older suits her and that she thought it was cool.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Meryl shared how fantastic she felt after finally being reunited with Cher on the set of “Mamma Mia.” She said that Cher stole the spotlight on set while she was singing “Fernando,” that even she was quite mesmerized with the performance.

Cher and Meryl’s friendship is certainly a relationship goal, and also proves that there are genuine friendships formed amongst superstars. Fans of the two megastars are hoping for another project of them together.  Who wouldn’t love to see these two stars’ side-by-side again?
