On November 1, 2017, Channing was guest hosting in Jimmy Kimmel Live! wherein Ellen DeGeneres was one of his two guests. It was here when he revealed to Ellen that it was because of her, Glenn, Channing’s dad, found out about his previous job as a male stripper.

He admitted that although he has been a dance stripper for about one year, his family does not know about it. His father only knew about his job when he guested in Ellen’s show in February 2010. During this time, he was promoting his movie, Dear John, by the famous Nicholas Sparks. Here, Ellen talked about his job as a stripper and asked him if he could show her his moves. According to Channing, his dad did not react well with the revelation, but all is well with them now.
