During the incident, she was doing some shopping inside Walmart in Cobleskill, New York, when her baby, only 7-months old, had woken up. She immediately started to breastfeed. There was no skin shown while she was feeding her child, but, one woman, a mother, was taken aback by her actions.

She said that mothers should have a blanket over her while breastfeeding because young children, like her 5 and 7-year-old sons could see it. Aleigha quickly responded in the most decent way.

As soon as she went home, she posted what happened to her on social media. This was to voice out her feelings. She shared in a post that women like her doing breastfeeding in public should be respected and be shamed.

She cursed the lady at Walmart who spoke negatively of her, and she added that nobody has the right to demean other people in front of others no matter who they are. She also added that no one has the right to judge a person who is breastfeeding. Furthermore, she added that people should minimize their assumptions.

She also stressed out that the sons of the woman who breastfeed-shamed her were not in the area and even if they were in it, they should know how to respect others in that situation. There are instances that mothers do not want to use blankets to cover themselves.
