Rescue Bulldog with Strutting Tongue Feted as World’s Ugliest Dog

The 2018 World’s Ugliest Dog has been awarded to Zsa Zsa, an English rescue bulldog. As a treat in commemoration of her win, she will probably indulge in Slim Jims and Chipotle, her favorites.

At the event, Megan and Jesse Brainard, Zsa Zsa’s owners, expressed their pride for their pet. They bagged a trophy, $1,500 worth of cash gift, and a trip to New York City for their guest appearance in the “Today Show.”

The news release about the competition revealed that Zsa Zsa was nine years old. With a strutting tongue, she has the habit of delivering saliva showers all over.

The tongue of Zsa Zsa dangles and touches her chest. In addition, her underbite makes even the best dentists surrender upon treating her.

The competition was tough for the bulldog because she needed to compete with plenty of other unprepossessing mutts like bald puppies and shabby gremlins.

Zsa Zsa’s preparation for the contest involved doggie Chapstick applied on her lips, the moistening of her freely drooping tongue, and pink nail polish applied on her nails.

The Brainards shared about how they first met their pet. They recounted that for five years Zsa Zsa was a puppy mill dog. Living in Missouri, the Brainard couple found her at the Underdog Rescue.

Her prospective dog parents found Zsa Zsa’s face one-of-a-kind and endearing. From that moment, it occurred to them that she was destined to be their pet.

The Brainards said that they were excited for their new dog. Furthermore, they thought she deserved to have a warm home.

Now in its thirtieth year, the World’s Ugliest Dog Contest happens annually at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California. The unattractive dogs work as advocates for adoption as well as ambassadors for animal shelter fund-raising.

The competition aims to strengthen the advocacy of adoring all animals, regardless of their appearances and recognizing the advantages of adopting those without homes.
