THESE Tough Bikers Stand in Line for 5 Days at Walmart for THIS Reason

When you think of the biker gang, the Hells Angels, what do you think of? Most people think of these tough biker guys with tattoos riding down the road on their motorcycles. However, just because they are big guys that look tough and have tattoos and just because they ride a motorcycle, doesn’t mean they don’t have a soft spot in their hearts for people, especially kids.

Not only do the Hells Angels, and other bikers for that matter, have a huge heart for people, especially children, but they also like to defy any and all stereotypes against them. That is why it may come as a surprise to you to find out that for the last 20 years or so, motorcycle gangs, not just the Hells Angels, have been donating bikes and other toys to a program called Poverello House for that last two decades or more. They especially do this for kids around Christmas time. How sweet is that?

Not only do they donate toys and bikes to the Poverello House, which is a community organization that helps families who are homeless, or almost homeless, in poverty, and are facing hunger, but these so-called tough biker gangs will actually stand in line on Black Friday for days at a time just to buy out all of the kids bikes and other toys to donate them to this organization.

These bikes, and other toys, are then given to the children who would otherwise not get anything for Christmas if it wasn’t for Poverello House and these sweetheart bikers.

Back in 2014, which was the 16th year in a row that the Poverello House and the bikers did this for these kids in Fresno, California, actually bought out the entire stock of kids’ bikes? Not only this, but the biker gangs stood in line for five whole days at a Walmart in Fresno, to buy out the entire stock! Not only did they give them to these children, but they might have just inspired a whole new generation of bikers!

Each and every year around the Holidays, many different biker gangs like the Hells Angels, and other, will go to Wal-Mart and stand in line for as long as it takes and buy out the entire stock of kids bikes for these children. In the photo above from 2014, you will see Hells Angel member Merl Hefferman, waiting in line at the Wal-Mart checkout counter to buy all of the kids bikes.

These bikers do this every single year, bringing joy and happiness to kids and their families who would otherwise not have a Christmas.

The photos from the bike drives for years 2014 and 2011, just go to show how many bikers turn out for this event and how many kids get toys they can play with and love.

However, getting these toys and bikes can be a challenge itself since these bikers often stand in long, long lines, sometimes for days. In 2014, they stood in line for five days waiting to buy out all of the kids’ bikes. But it is worth it, according to Hefferman. He had this to say about why he does this:

“When a kid runs up and he jumps on this bicycle and he rides around, it’s a good toy. You ain’t got enough money in this station that makes me feel the way I feel when I give these kids these bikes.”

In fact, the total of bikes the biker gangs bought for the kids was 200! However, this doesn’t compare to the thousands of toys and bikes throughout the years these biker gangs have bought and donated to Poverello House for these kids.

Gabriela McNiel, the manager of Poverello House, had this to say about what these bikers help them accomplish for these kids every year.

“We’ve seen hundreds of bikers participate before. Several motorcycle groups rally and collect toys each year. There’s a lot of brotherly love there.
